La Bergerie has been also built to develop tourism for the
disabled: it offers group of up to 4 wheelchair users and their carers the opportunity to discover the Isle of Skye and
is specially adapted for those with disabilities:-
-
a large car private parking is immediately adjacent to
La Bergerie.
-
outside, the pathway is fully paved and has automatic lights to guarantee safe passage around the building and garden at the side.
-
the entire ground floor of the cottage is fully adapted for wheelchair access.
-
the ground floor is flag stoned to provide easy navigation throughout.
-
from the dining-room and the living-room, you can enjoy the sea view and open fireplace from the
wheelchair.
-
the kitchen is designed to allow wheelchair access to cooking, washing and preparation
tasks.
-
the bedrooms can accommodate a group of 4 wheelchair users in the 2 ground floor rooms. Both are twin bedded rooms and each room has a specially adapted shower room, featuring grip bars, wash-basin and toilet at the recommended height and emergency call button.
-
emergency bells are also situated in the bedrooms and electrical plugs and light switches are positioned at a convenient
height.
-
4 carers can be accommodated in the 2 bedrooms upstairs.
La Bergerie offers to the disabled, and those caring for them, a unique, convenient and safe environment in which to base their
holiday. We can arrange a trained, local carer if required.

We also have a comprehensive list of local activities suitable for disabled ; painting, pottery, canoeing, boat trips and will be pleased to assist you in planning your visit.
Why don't you go to the swimming pool at Portree which is adapted, or dive at Stein with
www.dive-and-see-the-hebrides.co.uk ?
You can treat yourself at www.clachan-geal.co.uk or do some yoga sessions with www.skye-yoga-holidays.co.uk . If you can't go to Sarah, she can come to La Bergerie.
