ACCOMMODATION

Recently built in the traditional style, La Bergerie is a spacious, new and high quality self-catering cottage. The use of local stone, natural wood and light combined with personal touches such as hand made patchwork create a unique ambiance reflecting the beautiful surroundings. 

A blend of traditional furniture and all modern conveniences (including facilities for the disabled) will ensure that your stay will be comfortable and relaxing. 

• the entrance leads into a bright, spacious living/dining room

• the open fire nestles between window seats from where there are uninterrupted views across the sea from each bay window

• comfortable reclining sofa and easy chairs are the perfect place to relax and enjoy an evening around the fire

• during the day sunlight streams through high windows into the dining room and the balcony over- looking this room will give a truly “baronial” feel to a dinner with family or friends

• a door from the dining room to the garden allows for full enjoyment of “al fresco” eating and appreciation of the wonderful views

• the first floor is accessed by means of a natural wood staircase, to the balcony above

• there are 4 bedrooms in total, each able to accommodate 2 people. 2 private bedrooms on the ground floor are adapted for disabled use and there are 2 bedrooms with a separate spa-bath and shower room on the first floor

• ground floor bedroom 1: is large with twin beds (can easily be converted to a super-king), private shower & WC suitable for disabled use. This room is front facing and enjoys fabulous views across the sea

• ground floor bedroom 2: has twin beds, private shower & WC suitable for disabled use

• first floor bedroom 1: is large with twin beds and a high view across the sea

• first floor bedroom 2: has a double bed and views across the croft and fields

• the first floor bath and shower room has a spa bath, separate shower cubicle, wash-hand-basin and WC

•  all bedrooms are equipped with bedside tables & lighting and ample wardrobe space

• the kitchen is located just off the entrance hall, at the rear, on the ground floor, with views across the crofts and sea. It is fully equipped with a range of modern conveniences including a big fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, 4 ring gas hob, electric double oven and a microwave. 

• all cooking utensils, crockery & glassware are provided. 

• the kitchen is fully suitable for disabled use

• a small lobby outside the kitchen provides an area for wet coats etc.

• Color TV with Sky Sattelite, DVD and CD player, Hi-fi, Video machine, lot of video, tape, games, puzzles, books for all sort of ages.

La Bergerie has full central heating  throughout (oil) the cost of which is included in the weekly price. All fire making materials such as paper, kindlers etc are included and a starter supply of wood for the open fire is also included. The cottage is fully double-glazed throughout.

The tasteful décor reflects the natural beauty of the Hebridean Island surroundings and also the special “Auld Alliance” between the French and Scottish cultures.

The small sheltered garden and patio are accessible for wheelchairs:- listen to the fall of the stream; the calls of the birds; or just sit and admire the view from this delightful elevated spot. 

A bench table and barbecue are provided for outside eating.

Surrounded by fields and with hills behind, "La Bergerie" is set on a working croft surrounded by a flock of Hebridean Sheep owned by the hostess. 

Guests of La Bergerie are free to access this ground and to enjoy being close to the animals:- please however take care to close gates behind you and avoid undue disturbance of the livestock. 

Children are welcome, cot and highchair provided. They are on a secure property to play and explore the croft and animals. They have a special area with a playhouse and picnic table and also some board games and external games and toys. The parents must take reasonable precautions for to secure their children safety .
